sunshine, camera, teacake and grandparents..... <3

Had an incredibly lovely day today, made especially amazing by the sunshine! there is nothing like sunshine to make you feel amazing and inspired! After having a nice relaxing morning with my mum D popping around and enjoying a nice hot drink on my couch, I decided to get out my camera and do a bit of a baby shoot.... was a bit difficult because I don't own a tripod, BUT i made do with a big box and some things on top of the box, hehe, don't worry though I made sure it wasn't going to fall over (just in case Sam reads this....)

Photos were taken in our garden full of beautiful spring flowers!

After our little photo shoot, we went for a visit to cousin Courtney's house who has two beautiful children and another one on the way, we are only a week apart! So it's always lovely to go and share stories together! She fed me a delicious salad & some freshly cooked tea cake, yum! thanks Courtie!!! After we finished chit chatting, it was time to go and visit my gran and gramps! We sat for about 3 hours and talked... I always love hearing their stories from life, and seeing pictures of when they were young! Not to mention I came away with a bag of delicious chop chip biscuits to share with Sam! Love my grandparents!!!!

update time! 32 weeks

OK, so I do think it is time for an update! I have been a bit slack, and very busy!!
Only 1 day until I am 32 weeks along, which means we only have approx 8 weeks to go! We are so excited to meet Bubba D... really hoping the next 8 weeks goes nice and fast :D They say generally babies are most active during the night in the last few weeks, but I am thankful that little Bubba D is allowing me to get a decent amount of sleep during the night still! It seems he likes to get most active between 6-8 in the morning....that’s ok with me J It’s getting to the stage now where I have body parts poking out of my tummy – I love feeling Bubba D’s little back or little bottom sticking out hehe.

We have been having lots of visits with my midwives – Becky and Amanda.  We are so excited about the birth because my midwives are also my friends from church!!! They have been so fantastic through the pregnancy.... It’s been such a beautiful experience having people that genuinely love and care for us! It’s been such an amazing thing being able to sit and pray together, especially leading up to the birth! We are hoping – God willing – to have our birth at the birthing centre, which means we will be having a natural birth! It’s also good knowing the hospital is literally across the road if we need to go over at any point
Becky had a feel around the other day to see where baby is sitting. Bubba has his head down now, just getting ready needless to say we are SO excited!

Currently me and my sister in law – Liz are preparing for a baby shower for bubba D! Looks like it’s going to be held out at Mum de Ruiter’s, which is always such a beautiful place to have parties, especially in the sun! Can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!

Yesterday Lianne was up and she helped me really fix up the baby’s room and carried all the heavy things for me (thank you!!!) and it looks fantastic! I sorted all the baby clothes I already have into sizes! I have ALOT of size 0000 because people have already been so lovely and gifted us with lots of things to borrow or keep! So I don’t think I will have to buy much more in that department!
Anyhow, short update but an update at least will try to keep it a bit more up to date now!! Especially because there is only a short time to go until bubba!!

Oh and check out the beautiful flowers I picked from our garden yesterday I love spring!!!!

life update :)

Hey all,

time for an update!

Life has been going along incredibly fast. 22 weeks into the pregnancy now!!! It's going way too fast! Bubba D is becoming INCREDIBLY active. I feel him all the time throughout the day and for some reason he also likes to kick and punch mum through the night too. I think it's a bit cute though! : D Sam gets to touch my tummy now and can feel bubba D kick or punch his hand!!! such a special experience! It's funny to see things like my belly button stretching out, it's almost becoming an outie belly button!! hehe.

Yesturday i got to pick up our pram we had on lay-by!!!! I was so excited to get it home and couldn't help but set it up! here are some piccies!

We have both been busy with Sam working and me on prac at Grammar. I have loved every moment working with children from kinder to grade 6! It has been really special sharing the pregnancy with the children too. The other day one of the little prep kids came up and gave me a big hug, layed her ear against my tummy and said "I'm listening to baby" So cute!!! makes it really special :)

Sorry this is short, but i will update more maybe on the weekend! Lots of love from me and bubba D!

Things for Bubba D

All things Bubba D....

this is our pram that we are paying off at the moment!! The car seat was an added extra that we bought because the car seat also comes out and clicks onto the pram for when bubba D is still little! It's also a really nice lightweight pram and all you have to do is push a button and it all folds up nice and small for the back of your car (or to take on the plane to WA!)  I loved the red - So we are having a red pram! :)

This is cute a cute little piccy of Sam when he was a little Bubba! I wonder if our bubba is going to look like daddy? :D

or maybe he/she will look more like mummy? :)

If we have a boy I want to make this!!! SO CUTE! maybe for Ben & Kaylee's wedding? I have to learn to do it first haha!

Getting to see our little Bubba D!

 Hello Little Bubba D...

Last Friday (10/08/2012) Sam and I headed to the hospital for our 18-20 week scan of bubba D! We were SO excited but also a little bit nervous because this is the scan where they are looking for any abnormalities that could be a concern. Of course we were going to love bubba D no matter what happened, but we were still praying that our little Bubba would be healthy and happy! As we sat waiting for the scan I prayed and prayed that all would be well. Finally (About half an hour later than the time the scan was meant to be) We went in! On went the funny jelly stuff ;) and there was Bubba D! It was SO incredible for Sam and I to see how much Bubba D had grown since our last scan (at 11 weeks we had an emergency scan because I was bleeding allot) It was a bit emotional seeing our little bub and daddy Sam got a bit emotional (Which is beautiful!!) Bubba D was kicking around and moving alot! Amazing! We couldn't believe how BIG he/she was! It looked like he/she was already taking up all the room, so Daddy Sam thought why isn't it time for you to come out and say hi already :) Bubba D had VERY long legs and we got a beautiful picture of one of the legs stretched out!

Bubba D's long leg that likes to kick!!!

Bubba D's head/nose/heart AND long arm

It was so incredible to see the four chambers of the heart pumping blood, bub kicking up a storm and we had a good chuckle when bubba D didn't want to turn over so the doctor could get a proper image of his/her face!! she poked and prodded bubba and even got me to stand up and jump around! but bubba D said " I'm comfy!" It was wonderful news when she said Bubba D was all healthy and happy! Thank you to our Heavenly Father for looking after this beautiful soul. We pray He continues to guide and protect both us and Bub through this stage!
To our bubba D: We can't wait to meet you, little soul. We can't wait for the day you take your first breath and we get to cuddle, kiss and tell you how much we LOVE you.
 Thank you God.

Psalm 139:13-16
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Giving Blogging a go! The life of Laura, Sam & Bubba D

Well, i have been looking at people's blogs lately, and I found I really enjoyed sharing in what they have been up to in their lives! It makes you feel like you are there with them sharing the wonderful journey of life. So I decided...why not give it a go! It means I can share what I have been up to with my lovely hubbie, family and of course bubba D growing in my tummy :)
